Equipment

  • dehydrator is optional or you can do this in the oven

Instructions

  • Combine applesauce, strawberries, and honey using a food processor or hand blender
  • Line a cookie sheet with plastic wrap (don't worry this won't melt in the oven unless temps reach 250+ Fahrenheit)
  • Using a rubber spatula spread the puree in strips to just a 1/4 inch thickness. The puree can be dried in a 150 degree Fahrenheit degree oven for 7 hours or in a food dehydrator. Turn your oven on as low as it can go, leave it on for four hours, then turn it off and let the residual heat dry out the leather. DO leave it shut to keep that heat in.
  • When the leather peels away from the plastic wrap and is still slightly tacky when you touch it but your finger doesn't leave a mark, it is done. You can roll it right up in the plastic and cut it into little rolls. This will stay in the fridge for up to a month!
