Event Calendar

PFI Farminars are held every Tuesday at 7 p.m. CST, each focusing on a unique production or business management topic. All presentations are led by an experienced farmer or subject-matter expert, and attendees are able to ask questions in real time using a chatbox while they listen and watch a slideshow. The presentations are free for anyone with an internet connection.

ISU Extension and Outreach is hosting Produce Safety Alliance courses again this school year.  As someone who took the course last year, we’re hoping you could share this information with other growers you know and encourage them to attend.  The grant funding ends in May, and the course becomes considerably more expensive after this school year, so encourage everyone to attend a session quickly!

The University of Illinois Extension and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach are partnering to present the first tri-state local producer conference. Topics for this year's event will include generational buying trends and local foods, how to select food crops for your soil type, as well as social media and digital marketing. A networking dinner will follow for those interested. Cost is $25. Registration deadline is March 12 at 4pm.

The Ag Breakfast is an annual appreciation event held in March in Mason City. Projected attendance for this event is 400-500 people. The Ag Breakfast is a yearly event to bring farms and business together for an early morning breakfast served by Chamber volunteers.
