In March, we had the pleasure of hosting Dan from Cerro Gordo Public Health, who provided valuable insights and answered questions regarding food safety, licensing, and regulations. We had participants representing a diverse range of perspectives, including farmers, purchasers, instructors, and individuals interested in farming and value-added production.

Topics discussed included Iowa Kitchen Connect, home bakery licensing, ServSafe courses, DIAL jurisdictions, smoked meat regulations, reducing food waste through partnerships, and more. Andrea Evelsizer, HHNI’s executive director also introduced the the Kitchen Equipment Rental Program, available for HHNI members, aimed at enhancing culinary capabilities and fostering collaboration.

It was a productive event, and we’re excited about the opportunities ahead. Reach out if you have any questions or need further information on any of the topics discussed.
