These burgers come together in a snap using ingredients you probably already have in your pantry. Make them your own using homemade salt blends, fresh herbs, or local seasoning mixes. Ingredients with an asterisk (*) are available seasonally right here in North Iowa! Click on select ingredients to find them nearby or stop by your local farmer’s market.
Mix ground beef and seasonings together gently in a bowl. Do not work the meat too much or it will get tough, just mix enough to bring everything together. Divide mixture into 4 equal portions. Roll and press lightly with your hands until you form patties the desired size and thickness.
Allow patties to rest on a plate while you heat grill or skillet.
Place patties onto hot grill or skillet. Cook for 2-4 minutes before flipping patty. Cook on the other side for 2-4 minutes until you have reached desired doneness. *See notes
Serve burger patties on bun of choice or lettuce leaves. Optional toppings include lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese, pickles, bacon, bbq sauce, avocado, whatever you like on your burger.
