This adapted recipe comes from Berry Hill Orchard LLC. They write:These muffins are delicious, hearty, and filling. The heart-healthy bananas and oatmeal, the buttermilk containing protein, vitamins, minerals and probiotics, and the flavorful, antioxidant-rich berries can make us feel good about eating a muffin that tastes like such a treat. These muffins freeze well and defrost easily. Ingredients with an asterisk (*) are available seasonally right here in North Iowa! Click on select ingredients to find them nearby or stop by your local farmer’s market.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place muffin liners in your muffin tin or coat liberally with oil or butter.
In a large bowl add flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir and set aside.
In a large bowl, mash your bananas with a potato masher or fork. Mix in the butter and eggs with a hand mixer. Now add in your dry ingredients, oats, and buttermilk, and orange juice.
Toss the aronia berries with teaspoon of flour to help prevent them from falling to bottom of the muffins and fold them into the mixture, along with the pecans.
Once the batter is mixed, spoon into the muffin tin, 3/4 full.
Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Remove banana aronia muffins from oven and let cool on a baking rack then serve.

For softer oats you will want to soak your oats in buttermilk for 15-20 minutes.
